Spirits Playoff Baseball Starts Next Week

(August 31, 2016 – Dallas, TX) The Dallas Spirits Baseball Club will be sending its two teams to NTABL Playoff action starting next Wednesday night. The Spirits (35+) team will receive a first round bye, thus missing action this Thursday night and will pick up the winner of the 4 and 5 seeded Cubs versus Orioles. Game time is slated for 6:30PM at Reverchon Park in Uptown, Dallas on Thursday, September 8. The squad finished first in regular season play with a record of 14 and 3, giving up an average of only 2.5 runs per game.

The Spirits (45+) squad will take the field next Wednesday night, September 7 as they host the DFW Hurricanes. The Hurricanes defeated a self-imploding version of the Spirits this past Friday night with 9 runs on 9 hits as the Spirits committed 8 errors in the loss. You can expect the Spirits and their bats will be more than happy to regroup and avenge their performance as they host the ‘Canes at a time and field both yet to be determined. The Spirits (45+) finished with a 9 and 6 record and enter the playoffs as the Masters League 4 seed.

“We’re excited about the opportunity,” commented club and Spirits (35+) team manager, Shawn Lee. “Sip (Kirk Sipila) and I have discussed lineups and some strategy as we essentially head into a new season. Anybody can win in this league any given day. It sounds a bit cliche, but we’ve seen it happen. We’ll be ready and I think it’s obvious everyone steps their game up a notch. It’s time to see what you’ve learned from the season and it’s fun to apply that to your playoff games. I think I speak for both squads when I say we’re eager to bring home championships!”
