(May 2, 2026 – Carrollton, TX) Consistent hitting and frequent scoring were keys for a Spirits (50+) 11 to 1 mercy-rule win over Metroflex this past Saturday.
Kirk Sipila, Dee Mauldin and Mike Sopocy each finished with a pair of hits on the day, with Sipila adding a pair of runs scored and a pair of runs batted in. Sopocy and Mauldin each knocked in 3 runs while Mauldin also added a pair of runs scored, and Eric Reifschneider finished 3-for-3 with with a run scored. Kevin Simmons doubled and scored twice. Stacy Scott also finished with a hit and a pair of runs batted in.
Simmons went the shortened-game distance, throwing for 5 innings while allowing 1 earned on 4 hits while walking and striking out two while picking up the victory on the mound.
Randall Dick finished with 2 hits for the Metroflex.
