(July 18, 2016 – Dallas, TX) The Spirits (35+) team made its all-star selections for next Sunday’s NTABL All-Star Charity Games to be played at Dr. Pepper Ball Park in Frisco, TX. The Veterans League All-Star game kicks off at 11:10AM but be sure to come and come early! There are 4 games slated for the day and the first game features the Masters League All-Stars at 8:30AM including the Spirits (45+) team all-stars.
The Spirits (35+) voted pitcher Craig Molldrem as a unanimous choice for the pitching position. Molldrem holds a 6-2 record for the Spirits this season including an ERA of 1.00 featuring 76 strikeouts, an average of just under 10 Ks per game. Molldrem is also hitting .333 with a double and a home run on his resume, along with 6 RBI. Joining him on the field will be second baseman and Spirits rookie, Jason Bottenfield. Bottenfield leads the team in hitting at .550, including 2 HR, 8 R, and 12 RBI.
Also in the field will be Jonathan Duran, who has been extremely hot at the plate and also gotten it done pitching as well. Duran spends time at third base as well as assisting in the outfield when he’s not pitching. He’s currently 2-0 with 9 strikeouts and a 1.87 ERA. Duran is currently hitting .565 and leads the team in doubles. Joining Duran in the infield will be shortstop and catcher, Eric McPherson. McPherson is hitting .417 with 1 HR, 7 R, 7 RBI, 4 walks, and leads the team with 9 stolen bases.
Center fielder, Cliff Brade rounds out your Spirits (35+) all-stars. Brade is also in his rookie season with the squad and is currently second on the team with 6 stolen bases. Brade is hitting .364 with 1 HR, and leads the team with 10 runs scored. Brant Finchum will serve as the alternate in the event a player cannot make the game. Finchum is hitting .357 with 5 runs scored.
If you would like to attend the NTABL All-Star games and charity event, the public is welcome and gates open at 8AM at Dr. Pepper Ball Park in Frisco, TX. Friends and family members of the team are also invited to join the Spirits in their air-conditioned suite to meet other friends and guests attending.
