(November 11, 2018 – Dallas, TX) The Spirits (18+) finished their 2018 fall season by forfeit, failing to field a team in round one of the NTABL Trinity Division playoffs.
“We were very disappointed to hear that this was how our (18+) squad decided to end their season,” commented Club Manager, Shawn Lee. “It’s both unprofessional and unfair to leave another team without a game and as a club we don’t condone this. Forfeiting simply isn’t an option and it’s not something this club stands for or condones. We attempt to show a competitive and professional ideology from our ball club and not showing up to play is the exact opposite of this. The team struggled with leadership this fall season, but it’s not like the playoffs weren’t on the schedule. They were aware of the date and the game and I feel this could have been handled much better. We wish the North Dallas Blue Sox best of luck as they move forward in the Trinity playoffs.”
The loss ends the team’s season and baseball for Open level for the 2018 year while the club ponders whether or not a squad for the Open level will continue for 2019.
