(July 27, 2026 – Coppell, TX) The Spirits (45+) offense wasted no time teeing off of Reds starting pitcher, Marc Fagnan on Monday night following a 6-run first inning before adding 2 more in the second to send Fagnan to a new position on defense.
Antonio Quevedo fill Fagnan’s shoes but the replacement wasn’t helpful as the ghosts tacked on another 6 runs over the next two innings, including a 5-spot in the third as they cruised to an easy 14 to 3 win.
Lead off man and center fielder, Cliff Brade led the team’s offense with a 3-for-3 performance that included a triple, a hit-by-pitch free past to first, and a pair of runs scored. Brade also finished with a pair of stolen bases and an RBI.
Dee Mauldin finished 2-for-4 with a run scored and a pair of runs batted in as he and Dale Baird both added doubles to record hits in the extra bases column of the box score. Baird finished 2-for-3 with a run scored and a run batted in. Earl German added a hit, run scored and 3 runs batted in, while Mike Sopocy finished 1-for-1 with a walk, run scored, and a pair of runs batted in.
Jonathan Duran picked up the victory on the hill, adding another shortened complete-game win while pitching 5 innings and allowing 3 earned off 8 hits, while walking and striking out two.
The team heads into NTABL Masters (45+) Division playoffs as the number one seed and will play host to Knights versus Reds game taking place this Friday night. First pitch is scheduled for 8:45PM at Cowboy Field.
