Dallas Spirits Prepare for 2019 Season

(January 18, 2019 – Dallas, TX) The Dallas Spirits Baseball Club is dusting off the baseball gear as the club preps for its 2019 season campaigns around DFW. The Spirits will return 2 of 3 squads in 2019 including the Spirits (35+), which will continue play in the competitive North Texas Amateur Baseball League (NTABL). New in 2019 will be the Spirits (40+), which removes itself from the NTABL to check out competition in the DFWABA League.

“The guys were interested in some new competition, so we decided to give the DFW League a chance this summer,” commented Spirits Club Manager, Shawn Lee. We love the league, game play, and camaraderie in NTABL, but the guys were anxious to see some new competition so we felt splitting time this season would be a nice opportunity. I don’t necessarily know that it’s a permanent move, but we wanted to see what else the Dallas/Fort Worth area had to offer.”

Lee will continue manager duties for the club as a whole and will handle responsibilities for game day for the Spirits (35+) squad and will assist Kirk Sipila with the Spirits (40+) squad. Sipila remains in charge of a team that finished a nearly perfect 2018 campaign, including the NTABL Masters League title. Sipila was also voted MVP for both squads and was also each team’s leading hitter.

New sponsors are currently in talks with the team and the club looks forward to continuing its relationships with Waxahachie Autoplex, DMIS Managed IT Services, DJ Sean Lee, Christi Greene Homes, and J Macklins Grill.

“We’re proud to have such great sponsors for this club,” continued Lee. “They honestly reflect some of the best businesses and brands in their respective areas and we’re happy to not only work with them as individuals, but also as a club sharing their brands.”

The Spirits will start quickly in 2019 as their first game is slated for the Spirits (40+) squad, starting on Wednesday, February 27th. The team will play the following Wednesday before it heads to Las Vegas to compete for the second time in the MSBL Las Vegas Kickoff Classic. Game play for the Spirits (35+) squad will begin in March for the NTABL.
