Jason Reyes

Jason Reyes returns to the Dallas Spirits in his third year of action and following 7 years off. Jason last played with the ball club in 2016, having to step away from the game due to injury. A reliable catcher with a solid arm, Reyes can be counted on for solid defense and to play any position when asked, including outfield. Although he throws right, he’s capable of batting from both sides of the plate and his bat continues to improve. Jason was a starting pitcher in high school until injury sidelined him from overuse.

He was a middle relief pitcher for Diablo Valley and Fullerton Community Colleges in California. He’s the husband to a smoking hot wife, Jessica, and father of two beautiful children. You could have relied upon him in the past to put out your fires or to save your life if you were an Allen, TX resident, as Jason was a firefighter and paramedic for the city for several years. The family now resides in McKinney, TX.

Reyes is originally from San Antonio, TX, but spent most of his life in California’s San Francisco Bay Area. He’s a multi-sport athlete, serving as goalie for his fire department’s hockey team in Allen, although he loves the game of baseball and is a huge fan of the Houston Astros and Oakland Athletics.

The Spirits are also proud to note that Jason is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force with one tour in Iraq/Kuwait during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He’s re-enlisting into the Air Force Reserve as an Aeromedical Evacuation Technician in a leadership role with “EMEDS.” Thank you for your service, Jason!
