Dan Sosa

Dan Sosa makes his first appearance as a Dallas Spirit in 2020. Typically a solid competitor found on the opposite side of the diamond, the Spirits and Sosa have chosen to join forces to compete together during the DFW ABA (40+) summer season.

Sosa is a solid left-handed pitcher who has had the Spirits hitters’ numbers for a number of seasons. Sosa has a great combination of fastballs and a mixture of off-speed pitches that he places with pinpoint precision keeping opposing hitters both off-balance and frustrated. Sosa is a solid athlete and a high level competitor and he will provide the team’s pitching staff needed veteran skill and poise.

Dan played high school ball where he lettered during his sophomore year. He pitched and played right field and went on to be selected as a captain during his senior year. He’s been affiliated with NABA and MSBL baseball leagues for over 18 years and has earned one ring playing in Phoenix during 2011. Sosa has been part of some great campaigns and championships with the Caddo Reds in NTABL play and the Spirits look to benefit from his playing experience and knowledge of opposing players around the metroplex.

He was born in Harlingen, Texas and he went on to grow up in Fresno, California. Sosa served 8 years in the Air Force as a Computer Operator and the Spirits are thankful for his service. His experiences have made him both a Dallas Cowboys fan and a LA Dodgers fan and during his time in the military, Dan played competitive slow and fast-pitch softball and spent one season in the Guam Major League where he was selected as the Left-Handed Pitcher of the Year.

Dan resides in Frisco, Texas along with his wife of 34 years, Kristi. He has two grown sons, Andrew and Aaron.
