Brian Hackney

Brian Hackney remains as a solid force of power on the Spirits (45+) squad and will continue to assist with the Spirits (40+) when needed. A talented first baseman, Hackney can always be relied upon for great contact and punishment of any ball he puts into play. Hackney brings a depth of experience from his college years at the University of Arizona. He has a number of years experience in North Texas baseball, and his skills and input to other players assist in the development of both individuals and the team as a whole.

Brian has made several trips to the annual All-Star in NTABL play and made his way back to the big game at Dr. Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, TX during the 2016 season. He led the team in batting average at one point during the season, hitting well over the .600 mark. Hackney, or “Hack” as the team refers to him, is clutch at the dish sending baseballs deep and often as he always ranks among the top in the extra base hits category. Hackney’s two-out hit scored two runs to tie the game as the team went on to win 5 to 4 to capture walnut and bronze for the 2021 season.
