(July 13, 2026 – Coppell, TX) The Red Sox drew blood first with a fast 4-run first inning to put the Spirits (45+) squad on their heels Monday night at Cowboy Field in Coppell. However, the offense bounced back in the bottom frame with a 3-run counterpunch and then picked up 2 more in both the second and third innings before pulling away with a 5-run fifth to cruise to a 12 to 5 victory.
Ace starting pitcher, Jonathan Duran went the distance picking up the shortened complete-game victory with 6 innings of work, allowing just one earned off of 8 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 2.
Offensively, Eric McPherson, Dale Baird, Mike Sopocy, and David Tipton each finished with a pair of hits on the night, with Sopocy and Tipton adding doubles. Cliff Brade finished 1-for-2 adding a run and a pair of RBIs along with a sacrifice fly and a stolen bag. McPherson added a pair of stolen bags, a run scored and a run knocked in, and a walk. Baird scored twice while Sopocy also scored twice and knocked in two. Tipton also finished with 2 RBIs and a walk.
The team returns to action in two weeks when they visit the Reds at Cowboy Field. First pitcher is scheduled for 8:45PM.
