(July 24, 2023 – Coppell, TX) After starting the game down 1 to 0, the Spirits (42+) squad bounced back to tie the game at 1 to 1 in the second, then added a 2-run third inning followed by a 9-run fourth inning to cruise past the Rattling Dodgers by a score of 12 to 1 in NTABL Masters (42+) League action Monday night.
Jason Bottenfield returned to the Spirits lineup for the first time in over a year, and the talented and successful race car driver picked up right where he left off over a year ago. Bottenfield added a pair of hits including a double, while scoring twice to aid in the Spirits victory. Bottenfield, recently married and a proud father to a new baby girl, parlayed his success in nearly every sector of his life to adding his number 18 onto his Texaco Camaro race car. Kirk Sipila and Brant Finchum also each added a pair of hits on the night, with each adding a run scored and a pair of runs batted in, while Finchum also adding a pair of stolen bags on the night. Sipila also picked up the victory on the mound, tossing 4 innings and allowing just one earned off of one hit, while walking 3, and striking out 5.
The team will return to action after a week off to host the Caddo Reds on August 7th.
