A versatile infielder with a passion for the game, Dale Baird anchors the middle infield as a shortstop but is comfortable playing anywhere across the dirt. A native of Fort Worth, Dale played high school baseball at Southwest High School before shifting his focus to hockey during his senior year. That decision led him to play collegiate hockey at both Texas A&M and the University of Texas at Arlington.
After a 26-year hiatus from baseball, Dale returned to the diamond at age 44 while coaching his son’s 12U team—rekindling the love for the game that never truly left. For Dale, game days are more than competition—they’re a nostalgic trip back to childhood.
Off the field, Dale works in sales for Ben E. Keith Foods in Fort Worth. He’s been married to his wife Jessica for 14 years, and they have a 13-year-old son, Parker, who shares his dad’s love for baseball. When he’s not at the ballpark, Dale enjoys hitting the gym, hanging out with friends in the sun—beer in hand—and traveling with his family, especially to the Caribbean and on cruises.
