Chris Lewis returns to the Dallas Spirits for his sixth season of play and as one of the team’s best contact hitters. Expect Lewis to provide an offensive impact to each game he plays in. A solid utility player, Lewis can play nearly any position. You’ll typically find him at 1B in the infield if he’s not at the C position, but he’s also very capable of any infield position or playing in the outfield. More often than not, the team relies on his hitting contributions at the DH position to provide clutch hitting and needed offense in any game scenario or tournament.
In 2017, Lewis hit .317 with the Spirits (35+) over the season, finishing with 13 hits and 11 RBIs. For the Masters (45+) squad, Lewis batted .292, fourth on the team with 14 hits, and second on the squad with 13 RBIs. In 2018, Lewis finished second on the Spirits (45+) team after batting .500 on the season. Chris was voted to his first NTABL All-Star game by his teammates after finishing third on the squad with 24 hits, which included 4 doubles and 2 triples. His numbers were good for third overall in 32 total bases and he finished fourth on the squad with 18 runs scored and fourth on the team with 16 runs batted. He also swiped 7 bags.
Lewis loves to travel and to play in tournaments and annually visits the World Series in Phoenix, Arizona. In 2015, he had the opportunity to face legend Roger Clemons as well as a variety of other talented players during game play. Lewis also plays a leading role in assisting the club in fundraising and team sponsorship. Lewis is employed as the Executive Director of Finance at the Waxahachie Autoplex in Waxahachie, TX. The business is one of the club’s top supporters as well as an incredible option for purchasing new or used vehicles, and service.
Lewis is married to his wife, Shonna and the two reside in Mansfield, TX where he plays the role of father to both a son and daughter.
