The Spirits (40+) squad saw its season come to an end Wednesday night following a 15 to 9 loss to the Rattlers in DFW Adult Baseball Association League playoff action.

The Spirits clawed back from an 11 to 2 deficit to come within 2 runs at 11 to 9 heading into the game's final frame, but Rattlers bats and fielding errors were just too much as the Rattlers advance to the league championship series to face the Redbirds.

Travis Hitzeman led the Spirits with a pair of doubles and 3 RBIs, while David Tipton added two hits on the night, including a double and a pair of runs scored and a pair of RBIs. Bobby Kornhauswer also added an RBI double and a run and the three outline your Core Physical Medicine-Coppell Players of the Game.

The #5 seeded Dallas Spirits (40+) squad was close, but fell a bit short against the #2 seeded Rattlers Tuesday night in DFW Adult Baseball Association League playoff action Tuesday night at Texas Star.

Jason Bottenfield returned to help the Spirits and he went the distance, tossing 6 innings while allowing 7 earned off of 10 hits while walking just one and striking out 7.

The Spirits offense fell just a bit short and missed out on several scoring opportunities and that proved to be the difference as the Rattlers took game one, 7 to 6 in the best-of-three series.

Kirk Sipila finished with a double and 3 runs batted in and Travis Hitzeman finished with a run scored and a pair of hits. Brant Finchum finished 1-for-1 with a run scored, RBI and a walk. Congrats to these three alongside Jason Bottenfield for their Core Physical Medicine-Coppell Players of the Game honors!!

Kirk Sipila finished 2-for-4 with 2 runs scored and Shawn Lee finished with a pair of hits and a sac fly alongside 2 runs scored and 2 runs batted in. Brant Finchum finished 2-for-3 with a run scored and 2 RBIs.
