Shawn Lee enters his fifth NTABL season and third season as the Dallas Spirits Baseball Club Manager and Veterans (35+) Team Manager. A solid hitter with power to go deep, Lee provides clutch hitting and speed on the base paths, as well as tracking down of balls in the outfield. As a competitive defender, you can count on a few great throws or relays as well leading to put-outs when there are greedy opposing runners.
A natural leader, Shawn provides great leadership and organization to the club and is well respected between his teammates and throughout the league. Lee played most of his childhood through age 18, where he peaked in Legion play. Lee played amateur baseball periodically following high school before focusing on the camaraderie of local softball leagues for the next 20 years and later made his migration to Texas in 2011, where he discovered the game of baseball is played frequently.
After returning to the game he loves, Shawn saw a successful return season in 2011 and a batting average above the .300 mark. In his first season back and following 20 years off from baseball, Lee went on to win the NTABL Veterans League Home Run title as well. He has since graduated to three consecutive NTABL All-Star appearances at Dr. Pepper Ball Park in Frisco, TX. He led the Spirits in hits, triples, extra base hits, and finished second on the team with a batting average of .415 during the 2015 season.
Shawn joins the club from his home state of Wisconsin and is a fanatical Green Bay Packers fan. You can see his competitive spirit when it comes to the other game he loves and the team he loves come football season. A business-owner and nearly a lifetime DJ, Lee has had enormous success in the past year as a resident DJ at Renfield’s Corner in Uptown, Dallas, as well as being the first recruited “Official KiddNation DJ” for the nationally syndicated Kidd Kraddick Morning Show. Shawn is also a full-time Systems Analyst in the Technology Department at a school district in Fort Worth, TX.
