Mike Werner

Michael Werner returns to the the Dallas Spirits following his debut playing Fall Ball baseball team continuing his role as a solid second baseman and utility player. Werner batted .423 with 5 extra base hits in the shortened Fall season, including a pair of home runs, 12 runs scored, and 16 RBI. His quick bat and power to go deep provided the Spirits with some added punch as teh Fall team cruised to a 12-0 record and Fall Ball Championship in 2016. Werner will continue to be a run producer for the newly created Dallas Spirits (18+) Open National (NTABL) team in 2017.

Michael’s playing experiences include being a 2-year starter at Cedar Crest High School in Pennsylvania where he played 1B, DH, and P. He was a member of the 2010 AAAA District 3 Championship team as well.

His college experience includes playing his Freshman season at Pennsylvania State University Berks Campus. There, Werner helped his team capture the 2011 NEAC DIII Conference Championship. Michael was named a 2010-11 Scholar-Athlete and finished season just under .300, posting a .292 batting average.

His education background includes graduating from East Stroudsburg University in 2014 while majoring in Sociology and Criminal Justice. Werner joins the Spirits all the way from Lebanon, Pennsylvania. He moved to Dallas January 2016 and is currently working for Honda Financial Services in Irving, TX. Michale also works part time as a bartender and server at Bar Louie in North Dallas.
