Matthew Topps

Matt Topps joins the Dallas Spirits in his second season of Fall baseball. Matt plays any position and his experience includes playing in the outfield for Richardson High School. Topps graduated high school in 1998 and played in college as an outfielder for the University of North Texas Club Baseball team from 2009 to 2011.

Matt attends church regularly and enjoys writing and recording Christian music and other positive music.  He also enjoys reading, writing, and working out plus you’ll find him spending time in the kitchen as he likes to cook for his family. Topps also enjoys traveling.

He was born and raised in Garland, TX and his mother Mary is from Louisiana while his father, Major is from Arkansas. Matt has a brother named Marcus a variety of additional family members, but the most notable are Matt Forte (running back for the New York Jets) and Andrew Adams (safety for the New York Giants) whose brother-in-law is Alec Ogletree (linebacker for the Los Angels Rams).

Topps will spend time in both the outfield as well as behind the plate for the Spirits adding solid defensive skills and a solid bat to the Spirits offense.
