Kyle Redinger

Kyle Redinger was born and raised in Lebanon, PA just outside of famous Hershey, PA. Growing up, Redinger was all about sports, surrounding himself around athletics. He played just about every sport, but excelled in baseball. Kyle was drafted out of Cedar Crest High School (Lebanon, Pa.) by the Houston Astros in the 11th round of the 2010 MLB Draft. He had a great high school career batting .436 in his junior year and batting .439 in his senior year and was one of the state’s top players at that time. He also swiped 19 bases in 20 attempts in his senior year. He was honored to spend 3 years in the Astros Baseball Organization.

Kyle has spent the last year and a half at college studying Sports Medicine at Keiser University down in Port St Lucie, Florida. He volunteers a lot of his spare time with local Special Olympic athletes and coaches and mentors young athletes. The Special Olympics have been a huge part of Kyle’s life over the last few years, and he plans on continuing to donate time to the Special Olympic organization.

After taking a hiatus from baseball for a few years, Redinger decided he wanted play again but he also wanted to play and see the world. He played last summer in Oregon City, Oregon, and in Toronto, Ontario. He was also blessed with an opportunity to travel to Brisbane, Australia to play professionally in the Australian Baseball League.

Redinger not only brings a great attitude to the Spirits, but also a great work ethic and athletic ability. His skills will certainly tighten up the infield’s defensive stature, and his arm will be used to shut down games from the mound as well. The Fall team looks forward to his contributions on and off the field.

Nickname: “Kyle (Use Eric Cartman Voice),” “Big Red”
